About this event

Salida is a dynamic community and as is the case elsewhere, experiencing changes and challenges. How to grow, housing, water quality, infrastructure and more are “front of the brain” issues for many residents. Voters can help shape what is next to come by learning about candidates who are vying in the upcoming off-year election to manage the city and shape Salida’s present and future.

Make a date to join us for a “candidating” session. Following short introductions and a lightning round of questions, candidates will rotate through tables filled with voters to answer direct questions. Following the closing, more time will be available to talk with candidates.

Participants will include candidates for various offices:
Mayor: Justin Critelli, Tracy Kachadourian and Ethan Smith

City Council
Ward 1: Sage Kitson and Joseph Rovinsky
Ward 2: Daniel Bush and Shelley Schreiner
Ward 3: Wayles Martin, Adam Martinez and Cory “Salty” Riggs

All are encouraged to join us Thursday, October 16 from 6 – 8:30 pm at the c, 333 Burnett Ave., Poncha Springs.

The League of Women Voters of Chaffee County values the people who step up to run and serve in these roles, and is pleased to provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about candidates before voting. Voters can participate in selecting the Mayor and their Ward’s representative in the November 4 election via mail ballot or voting in person at polling centers.
